Requirements and setup
For a real welding job, obtain the applicable welding information from the organisation controlling the work. WeldCheck compares what you record against that reference; it is not the source of the requirement.
- Correct mismatches before welding.
- Complete the preparation and safety checks.
- “Ready” confirms only the recorded rules.
Take a useful photograph
- Let the weld cool and remove loose slag.
- Show the full bead and both edges.
- Use even light and keep the camera steady.
- Retake dark, blurred, low-contrast or very small images.
Read the result
The result separates visible observations, the assessment reason, items to review and limitations. Confirm whether it matches what you can see; corrections never overwrite the original result. A supervised condition set can be added separately to record an exact, partial or no-match reference comparison.
Keep and share the record
Open any saved inspection to print or save an A4 PDF report. History also provides a spreadsheet for analysis and a full JSON backup for recovery. JSON is a technical backup, not the normal report.
Common questions
Do I always need a supervisor?
No. A completed-weld check can be recorded independently. For controlled workshop or production work, use the organisation’s authorised requirements and review process.
Does “Ready” mean the weld will pass?
No. It only means the entered setup and checks match the recorded requirement or exercise.
Does WeldCheck certify a weld?
No. It cannot confirm internal condition, penetration, mechanical strength, safety or code compliance.
Can I use it without Google?
Yes. Continue as a private guest and connect Google later to keep records across devices.
